Gang of Youths had us on board recently for their sold out Melbourne shows.
Amazing band live and quite possibly the nicest group of guys I have ever met. Here are some token shots:
Paloma Faith has brought us on board as part of the team for her Australian tour.
Here’s a shot from our Sydney Opera House show.
Big thanks to Chloe Snaith for coming out to capture the magic.
Captured some of these from the Melbourne show:
Big thanks to Chris Mantel for taking care of Safia at the Northcote last night. Big ups to the Safia boys rocking out as always.
Big ups to Dave Taylor (Empire of the Sun) to take out some time from his jet setting ways to smash this Flashbang Production out for Opiuo at the Hifi in Brisbane last night. Opiou's classic style of glitch rock tends to some great lighting looks, and offers real direction and look potential.
This year’s Jezabels headline shows pushed the envelope of design, possibility and reality. We set out with the vision of creating a dystopian future, one disconnected from reality; extreme and elegant.
The challenge: Deliver these big ideas in a design big enough to conquer the mountain of the iconic Sydney Opera House, while being small and nimble enough to tour overnight through a logistical nightmare of dates and festivals.
The design brief from the guys came through as wanted to capture this idea between a dystopian setting and how detached beauty can come out of that. This led to the development of the make up frames, comprised of a tungsten outer and an array of 3/5 lense inside. These where backlit and provided the main backdrop for the show.
The show itself was to take the Opera House concert hall to it’s limits, with a series of live fly cues at the top of the show to make an organ recital possible as well as a sleek stage show.
A feat that has not been attempted in the last 10 years.
Hip-hop LD legend Paulie Owen (Hilltop Hoods, Illly and others) came by the studio to put this show together for a sold out Thundamentals national tour. Here are some shots we captured of one of the three sold out Melbourne shows.
